Workshop on Living Wage Campaigns and the Ottawa Experience
The Immigrant Workers Centre and ACORN International present a Workshop on Living Wage Campaigns and the Ottawa Experience. Presenters: Larry Rousseau Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and members of Ottawa ACORN (presentation in French- discussion in English and French). Thursday June 10, 2010 at the Immigrant Workers Centre, 4755 Van Horne #110 (metro Plamondon) from 4-6 pm.
A Living Wage strategy targets municipalities and demands that all workers employed by the municipality, their sub-contactors and providers of good and services to the city receive decent wages. A municipal ordinance that does that was recently passed by the city council in New Westminister B.C. Join us to discuss this approach to organizing poor and working class people.
